A CLOSE QUARTERS EXPERIENCE WITH THE AFRICAN PENGUINS OF BOULDERS BEACH AND ONE OF THE WORLD’S MOST REMARKABLE PENINSULAS

The cape peninsula

This is a captivating and scenic region stretching southwards from the vibrant Mother City, the peninsula is hugged by the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Indian Ocean on the other. Featuring towering cliffs, sandy beaches, and picturesque bays creating some breathtaking backdrops. One of its most iconic landmarks is the historic Cape of Good Hope, where visitors pay witness to the powerful currents colliding beneath them at the most southern western tip of Africa.

This coastline and its endemic vegetation once set the scene for the early Portugease Explorer greats Dias and De Gama before acting as battlefields for the colonial feud between the Dutch and British. Steeped in history, rich in wildlife and kind on the eye its difficult to comprehend just how enjoyable this day out can be.

OUR PENGUIN FRIENDS

The discovery of a narrow passage way on the eastern side of Boulders Beach often means we can get closer than ever before to the African Penguin Colony. These endearing sea birds are not without their fight though, a combination of close observation and respect for their space makes for a truly enjoyable marine life encounter. Allow our private guides to convince you that these little guys are now your favorite creature under 3ft.

Sadly, they are endangered due to habitat loss, pollution, and overfishing and we are commited to working with local conservationists to help alleviate their harsh reality.
