WHERE & WHAT

2-3 hours north of Cape Town you’ll find a wilderness paradise and one of SA’s most dramatic, truly breathtaking landscapes. The Cederberg Wilderness region is home to some of the planet’s oldest and twisted rock formations dating back over 400 million years. Exceptional biodiversity, ancient San rock art sites, untamed wide open spaces and memorable orange sunsets combine to complete one of the most extraordinary destinations we operate in.

These rock paintings, created by the San people thousands of years ago, depict scenes of hunting, dancing, and rituals that offer a unique window into the past. The intricate designs and vibrant colors tell stories of a time long gone, allowing visitors to connect with the rich history and spiritual beliefs of the indigenous people that once called this place home. Exploring these sacred sites is not only a journey through time but also a chance to appreciate the artistic talents and cultural significance of the San people.

WINES & TEA

Cedeberg WInes: Visit the winery with the highest altitude wines in the country! Cederberg Wines is situated in a unique climatic zone that can be described as a cool Mediterranean climate rather than a maritime or coastal one. Located at the foot of Sneeuberg Mountain, one of the highest peaks in the Western Cape at 2 026 m above sea level. Cederberg Wines, thus, lays claim to having the highest vineyards in the Western Cape at between 950 and 1 100 m above sea level.

Rooibos, which translates to 'red bush', thrives uniquely here, making it a cornerstone of the Cederberg's economy. Witness firsthand the intricate process behind cultivating and harvesting this prized herbal tea, as it journeys from the Cederberg to destinations worldwide, including Europe, Japan, and the USA.

GET ACTIVE OUTSIDE

The Cederberg offers a thrilling combination of mountain biking and kayaking experiences for adventure seekers. Navigate the rugged terrain on two wheels, you'll be surrounded by breathtaking mountain views, unique rock formations, and indigenous fynbos vegetation. The diverse trails cater to all levels of riders, from beginners to advanced cyclists.
